Many of you are passionate about the beauty that surrounds you here in Pierce County. In July Young Professionals Network is teaming up with Puget Creek Restoration Society to help eradicate invasive non-native vegetation and weed existing planting sites. Puget Creek Restoration Society protects, enhances, and restores the Puget Creek Watershed and other streams, wetlands, and green spaces. Puget Creek/Gulch is a 66-acre natural area in Tacoma's North End. One of only three salmon-bearing streams within the city limits, this habitat has been degraded and the wildlife dependent upon it harmed. Now you have an opportunity to join in the ongoing restoration of this stream. Progress is already apparent. Coho salmon returned in autumn of 2000 and 2002 and again in 2003, with chum salmon also. http://www.pugetcreek.org/
