Tacoma Unified Sports is an inclusive sports program that combines an approximately equal number of Special Olympics athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) and partners (individuals without intellectual disabilities) on teams for training and competition. By playing side-by-side participants not only develop their physical skills and social skills as they practice for competition, but challenge the prejudices that exist around intellectual disabilities.
Volunteer Opportunities include the following:
Venue Coordinator
Facilities Coordinator
Officials/Referees Coordinator
Volunteer Coordinator
Be a Fan in the Stands-Cheer and Support teams during game play
Other positions will include general duties such as greeting families at the gate, directions, handing out uniforms, team check in, etc…
