Power Lunch With YPN and Guest Speaker, Executive Director of Metro Parks Foundation, Drew Ebersole

Drew Ebersole is currently the Executive Director of the Greater Metro Parks Foundation. His additional community involvements include: American Leadership Forum - Senior Fellow Class XVI, Board Chair for the Center for Spiritual Living Tacoma, Board Chair for All As One – an orphanage and school in Sierra Leone Africa, the Early Learning Consortium, the Pierce County Road to End Homelessness, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of SPS. His commitment to parks and working with innovative solutions to civically engage youth and community via parks projects is of paramount importance. He believes that Metro Parks Tacoma is a tremendous system, and is proud to serve the impressive people of this region. His wife CJ and son Max are also enthusiastic park users, and he believes that Tacoma and its parks offer every one of its citizens’ exceptional experiences.

Join YPN for Bowling Night!

Come and mingle with your fellow young professionals and celebrate being half done with another week.

We will be bowling at Narrows Plaza Bowl on Wednesday, February 22nd at 5:30pm.  The price is $7 for members and $11 for non-members.  Not a member? That's ok! You can sign up at the event or online. The price includes 2 games and shoes.

Annual YPN Member Meeting and Elections

Two meetings are planned for our annual elections this month. A Pre-Election meeting on February 15 and the Annual Membership Meeting on February 29. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  

The Pre-Election meeting will include open nominations for the board, description of leadership roles, and the opportunity to provide feedback to current board members. The annual membership meeting will include election of board members. An Evite for each event will be sent out providing additional information.

As you know it was a Great success and we served over 900 children and adults. We could not have done that without all of your support. This event has been part of our Rotary for over 20 years and was the largest number people that we have ever served. Santa wanted to express his thanks to all of his Elf’s that were their to make that special moment for all of the children and their families.

YPN Santa Breakfast

Our mission, which we've chosen to accept, is to help kiddos (like the this one to the left) have a good Santa-picture-taking experience.

YPN is partnering with the Sunrise Rotary to help bring happiness to less fortunate families in Tacoma. Help is needed with washing tables, being Santa's helper with pictures and handing out toys.

Meet fellow YPNers at the 2nd floor of Goodwill (714 S 27th, Tacoma) Saturday, December 10th @ 8am. 
We'll be helping out until 11am.

When: Wednesday, November 16th 4-7pm
Where: Tacoma Rescue Mission Downtown Campus

A maximum of 15 people can volunteer at a time. When you rsvp here to attend, please be certain of your availability.

Parking is limited at the site so we will arrange a carpool prior to the event.

REQUIRED ATTIRE: Long pants and closed toed shoes. No exceptions. More information will be sent to those able to attend.

YPN volunteers needed at A Salute to Unsung Heroes: Military Kids

October 16th from 10:30am-2:30pm at the Marcus Pavillion

at Saint Martin's University

5300 Pacific Ave, Lacey

YPN is teaming up with the Ranger and Airlifter publications on Sunday, October 16th from 10:30am to 2:30pm*. The Ranger and Airlifter are throwing an event to honor the kids of military families and recognize them for sacrifices they have endured. Over 2,000 kids are expected to be there. The event is in Lacey but this benefits military families around the South Sound. Over 75% of the military live off base and right here in our community.

Join us as we volunteer our services and give back to military families who have, without hesitation, supported and sacrificed for us.

YPN will be assisting with checking in guests and running the games.

Please arrive at 10:30am for a brief orientation and instructions.

We will help organize a carpool once we have an idea of who will be attending.

*The event runs until 5pm, any extension of help is welcomed.
