On behalf of the Tacoma Sunrise Rotary I would like to thank each of you for all of your help with our Holiday Santa Breakfast. As you know it was a Great success and we served over 900 children and adults. We could not have done that without all of your support. This event has been part of our Rotary for over 20 years and was the largest number people that we have ever served. Santa wanted to express his thanks to all of his Elf’s that were their to make that special moment for all of the children and their families.

YPN Santa Breakfast

Our mission, which we've chosen to accept, is to help kiddos (like the this one to the left) have a good Santa-picture-taking experience.

YPN is partnering with the Sunrise Rotary to help bring happiness to less fortunate families in Tacoma. Help is needed with washing tables, being Santa's helper with pictures and handing out toys.

Meet fellow YPNers at the 2nd floor of Goodwill (714 S 27th, Tacoma) Saturday, December 10th @ 8am. 
We'll be helping out until 11am.

Help the Rescue Mission with YPN

Join YPN as we volunteer to serve dinner at the Tacoma Rescue Mission

When: Wednesday, November 16th 4-7pm
Where: Tacoma Rescue Mission Downtown Campus

A maximum of 15 people can volunteer at a time. When you rsvp here to attend, please be certain of your availability.

Parking is limited at the site so we will arrange a carpool prior to the event.

REQUIRED ATTIRE: Long pants and closed toed shoes. No exceptions. More information will be sent to those able to attend.

YPN volunteers needed at A Salute to Unsung Heroes: Military Kids

October 16th from 10:30am-2:30pm at the Marcus Pavillion

at Saint Martin's University

5300 Pacific Ave, Lacey

YPN is teaming up with the Ranger and Airlifter publications on Sunday, October 16th from 10:30am to 2:30pm*. The Ranger and Airlifter are throwing an event to honor the kids of military families and recognize them for sacrifices they have endured. Over 2,000 kids are expected to be there. The event is in Lacey but this benefits military families around the South Sound. Over 75% of the military live off base and right here in our community.

Join us as we volunteer our services and give back to military families who have, without hesitation, supported and sacrificed for us.

YPN will be assisting with checking in guests and running the games.

Please arrive at 10:30am for a brief orientation and instructions.

We will help organize a carpool once we have an idea of who will be attending.

*The event runs until 5pm, any extension of help is welcomed.

Chambers Bay Tourney!

Save the date for the YPN summer golf tournament. We'll be playing at Chambers Bay this year. Yes - that's right, Chambers Bay, site of the 2015 U.S. Open!

We have a special opportunity to play a 9 hole tournament. Chambers Bay does not offer a 9 hole option for regular play, so this is a great chance to play part of a championship course for much less than the 18 hole cost. Plus Chambers is offering us a great package including unlimited range and putting practice, a putting contest, drinks and prizes!

The YPN Leadership Committee would like to thank Columbia Bank's CEO, Melanie Dressel for speaking at our quarterly Power Luncheon on Tuesday, April 5th at the Pacific Grill Events Center. Ms. Dressel spoke to the Young Professionals Network covering topics ranging from her personal history and mentors to establishing a community presence with focus on leading by example. Attendees enjoyed pork cutlets, spinach leaf salad and garlic potatoes while Ms. Dressel spoke about the necessity for community involvement by young professionals and commended YPN on its efforts to mentor and give back to Tacoma. After bringing her valuable expertise and experience to her speech, Dressel fielded questions from the attendees regarding her outlook on the economic climate and the importance of local professionals serving in local politics. Her responses were well received and capped an experience that benefited all who attended. Thanks again to all who participated in this successful event!
